Eliminate waste by focusing on “reduce, reuse and recycle”
In response to the climate-policy ambition we, as retail, need to find new and innovative solutions which go beyond current efforts. Shifting to a circular economy can be the answer. For EK, it means using more renewable and recycled materials in our (private) label collections, striving to eliminate waste in our operations, and helping retailers to start with circular-business-models, like repair, rent and/or reuse possibilities. Last but not least, influence change and reward the front-runners we so desperately need.
Together is better
As always, nobody can do everything alone, which is why we need to develop and maintain long-term partnerships with retailers, brands, service-partners and start-ups – together we can accelerate the transformation from a linear, to a circular economy.
Currently, all our units are working on the topic of circularity and what this means for the respective unit, how we can help the retailers, and practice what we preach by being pioneers in our private label collections.
Material Topic: Circular-Business-Models
EK’s ability to offer circular products to its consumers (either directly or via the retailers) and to apply circular-economy business-model concepts, such as product-as-a-service.
EK ambition
Move towards zero-waste by stimulating a circular economy and focusing on ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’ by 2050.
