Complying with CSRD legislation with a collaborative sector approach
What is CSRD?
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is European legislation that requires large companies to report on the impact of their activities on people and the environment. The CSRD is central to the European Union’s Green Deal and is intended to ensure greater transparency about and better quality of sustainability information. CSRD is mandatory for companies that meet at least two of the three criteria: 1) more than 250 employees (average over one year); 2) turnover exceeds €50 million per year; 3) a balance sheet total of more than €25 million.
Sector approach
Currently, Modint, INretail and EK are preparing an approach to support retailers and brands in preparing for CSRD. For the Textile, Footwear and Living sectors, the possibilities are being investigated to draw up a stakeholder and dual materiality analysis per sector that takes a lot of time off the hands of each individual company.
When will it start?
4 June 2024
Who is this of interest to?
For anyone who has a CSRD duty from 2026 and/or wants to prepare in advance for ESG strategy and reporting.
