Tips to get started on circularity in Fashion right away
Many retailers experience the need for change, but in practice it often proves difficult to get started in concrete terms. Questions like “How?” and “Where can I make a difference?” are common. Even smaller companies, which are more at the end of the chain, struggle with whether they can make an impact at all. In light of the frequent discussions about sustainability, EK decided to develop something practical: a toolkit that not only appeals, but demonstrates that even if you are not directly involved at the source, you can make a difference .
This year, the first draft of the Toolkit “Circular Business Models for Retailers” was launched. This is an initial version, which will be supplemented and adapted in the coming year based on timeliness and new insights. The goal is to provide a practical tool for retailers that inspires and empowers them to effectively embrace and integrate more sustainable business models.
The first draft of the “Circular Business Models for Retailers” toolkit provides inspiration and practical tips and resources for incorporating circular business models into one’s retail business. The models focus on minimizing waste and/or maximizing reuse and recycling, enabling any retailer to strategically evolve to meet the needs of consumers in the fashion industry. All of the business models mentioned in this toolkit are practically designed and serve as both tools and reference tools to achieve the sustainable goals that best fit the retailer’s DNA.
Who is this of interest to?
For all retailers who want to take first steps in circular applications such as second-hand sales, rentals, entertainment and repairs. The tool was developed by EK Fashion and written specifically from this sector. Are you operating in another sector? No problem, the tool offers enough inspiration to easily translate it to your own practice.
