On 17th January, more than 200 trade-partners, industry representatives and guests from business and science met at the EK Retail Forum 2023 in Bielefeld with the message; ‘The future belongs to those who take responsibility for the environment and society’. Keynote speaker, Anna-Maria Demes, opened the forum with a call of ‘Act Now! – How sustainability will create added-value for retailers in 2023’, followed by a panel discussion with industry and retail representatives and ESG officials from EK. During this discussion, it became clear that, among other things, sustainable products will eventually become the standard, but also that transparency is necessary throughout the production and distribution-chain so that the end-user can make a fair choice. Visitors also gained an insight into EK’s ESG activities and their translation to retailers.
A recording was made of the Retail Forum which you can watch back here along with a photo impression.
